How often do you clean your oven?

lottytheladybird · 09/04/2014 22:04

I haven't cleaned my oven for over a year and now I'm regretting it, as I've now given it 5 applications of Mr Muscle oven cleaner and still some of the burnt bits aren't shifting! Anyway, I was just wondering how often most people clean their oven?

I never clean it.

The oven man does it 2-3 times a year.

Never. We have had our current range with 2 ovens and a grill, 18 months and I have never cleaned it. I have barely gone near it, tbh.

I think dh gives it a once over now and then.

If it gets bad enough, we'll get a man in.

Normally once a year just before christmas but for some reason it really smells so need to do it again soon.
I buy Oven Pride its amazing the grime just rinses off after using it.

Once a year with ineffective mr muscle oven cleaner. No set time to do it- just when we can't see more than an inch in front of our faces when we open the oven door when cooking.

In my old house - once a year
Since we moved 18months ago - never Blush & I have no plans to either Blush Blush
I did clean it when we first moved in but we are in the middle of building works which will include a new kitchen so I don't see the point Grin

never!!!...I do a lot of things but oven cleaning isn't one of them ;) normally I've paid for someone to do it when it sets the smoke alarm off or I've moved but having not moved for three years and being single (no man to bribe! and DS too young to let touch oven pride) I am faced with finding a boyfriend or paying to have it done again....oh course i am now embarrassed by the state of oven having not cleaned for 3yrs that I am faced with giving it some kind of clean before I let the oven cleaning company see it ;)

maybe the oven cleaning man will be gorgeous and single solving both my problems :)

ovenu is the well-known one but just google 'oven cleaning' with your location & you should get several links

local ones tend to be cheaper

they are amazing. it's c £45-50 for a single oven but it takes 1½-2 hours & they leave it like new Smile

I am definitely getting an oven man next time our oven needs cleaning! I wish I'd known about oven men before I embarked on cleaning my oven, which still isn't clean yet! Burnt stuff still stubbornly stuck on! Aarrggghhh!

1-2 times a year. We've got our house up for sale and it was last cleaned in February. Lady said she would up her offer if we included the cooker, so I'm going to have to clean it again aren't I?!!

Once a month. However, I think I must be a skanky cook because if I don't do it that often it smokes.

Oven Pride is your friend. It's a bazillion times better than Mr Muscle. Stick all the racks/trays in the bag with the chemical. Wipe the inside of the oven. Leave over night. Rinse of in the morning and the oven is like new. It has transformed my life my oven cleaning.

Use washing powder dissolved in hot water, it gets the gunk off instantly!
