Urine on carpet...

Hiya,

I'm ashamed to say that my boyfriend (who came home a bit drunk last night) woke up in the early hours and walked into the spare room and pissed on the floor. I thought it didn't sound right and got up and found him there!

Argh!!!!!! He's never done that before!!

Anyway, I've soaked most of it up with a (his) bath towel and then totally saturated it with vanish power foam because that's literally all we had in the cupboard that looked suitable didn't have bleach in it. (I have vinegar, but it's brown not white!!) Anyhoo, rubbed that in a bit and it's now drying. Infact, I won't touch it again now until I've had some sleep. Ideally I'll wait till boyfriend wakes up, remind him of his little accident and get him to finish it off by hoovering up the dry foam (which is what it says to do on the bottle)

Now I'm worried that I put far too much on the carpet. I completely saturated it in the hope that it would go right down to the underlay. But maybe that's too much? And I'm also worried the vanish and the urine will have some kind of chemical reaction and bleach the carpet...

I should have just waited till the morning, but I couldn't sleep knowing that there was piss soaking into the carpet! I just had to do something.

To add insult to injury, he managed to catch the end of the spare bed meaning the duvet is also pissed on. Luckily the mattress was spared.

You've got nothing to be ashamed of. He, on the other hand...

Let him sort it. Go out for the morning & tell him you'll be back when it's fixed. Duvet included!

A 'bit drunk' or totally shit-faced to piss on the floor? Does he often drink to excess?

Get him to pay for a professional carpet cleaner to come in

  1. Get the boyfriend to buy you a new carpet.

  1. Dump him pronto.

Cheers for the comments! (I think!)

It looks okay this morning, no obvious colour change to the patch of carpet.

Thank you for the added bonus of relationship advice! I can see how, completely out of context, this one post could summon up an image of a total drunken bastard.

Think I'll get some bicarb of soda in because that seems to be a handy bit of cleaning equipment for this kind of situation. (For him to use obviously).

Thankfully it's his carpet! How long should I leave it before I do a poo on his white sofa?

His carpet so his house? Why are you cleaning up after the pig then?

Your boyfriend is very so lucky to have you! Cleaning a carpet is not an easy task to do but it looks like you make a good job to clean it. Well I advice to you that tell your boyfriend to stop drinking.
