Do you clean the doors in your house?

If so, how often? I've noticed that the doors in my house are looking a bit grubby, especially the bottoms of them. It never occurred to me to clean them before but I'm going to have to. Do others do this?

Erm yes.

Door handles very regularly as don't like the thought of sticky ness

The rest of the door gets a weekly or so dust and occasional blast with the steam cleanerp

mumof3 Grin glad I'm not the only one
Ok I think I'm going to have to do it. But it's not just that they need dusting miss they need a good cleaning. I don't have a steam thingy so I was thinking hot water and soap.

I have this morning eyed up the door frames as needing a wash but never considered the doors!

They are a oaky wood and don't look dirty lol

Yes.. I like to clean doors with babywipes when i'm beyond stressed out and need something to.

Works pretty good.

I wash then down every few weeks, but more often in the winter because of DDog, she seems to cover them in all sorts. Handles are cleaned every now and then but as DS can't reach them yet they remain pretty clean.

The other day when I was sitting on the toilet Blush I took a baby wipe and began to go over the bottom part of the door. I think I'll continue later on today.

No, life is too short.

Unless something messy actually gets on the door, they are fine.

Erm, only if it's a sunny day and I notice the streaks of dirt. The bathroom door gets particularly bad because that's where we hang towels. Bloody London. I think it's the pollution that causes it - it gets all over my bathroom tiles as well. A film of black dust. Yuk.

Yes, every one to two weeks and when I see any obvious marks made by dc1.

The doors are white and would look grubby otherwise.

Yes and I'm really shit at housework, I just seem to notice them and start to annoy me. Every month I'd say.

Door handles yes.

Actual doors no. Downstairs only the living room has a door. External doors as well but rest of house is open plan. We've only had the living room door for six months.

Bedroom doors look clean.

I WAS going to this weekend, but I couldn't be arsed in the end. I gave them all a wipe down when I moved in last June. I just can't seem to bring myself to clean woodwork, windows and the oven more than once a year really... It's just so boring.

Yes, roughly every couple of weeks and/or when I see dust or dirt on them. Same with the picture rails - although they only get dusted every few months or so!

Yes, occasionally, and I fall into the lax camp when it comes to housework / cleaning.
Only the ones that are painted white though, as they are the only ones that look grubby. I use a babywipe or surface cleaning wipe - the grubbiness just comes off easily.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Ok so this morning I cleaned all of the doors in the house and I admit they look a lot better but it's not something I can see myself doing too often, maybe every 3 or 4 months. I'll keep the handles clean though as I think that really does make a big difference.

yes, now and again - usually if have a wipe in my hand that still has some grunt in it I'll do a nearby handle or bottom - the ones in the kitchen particularly seem to get a bit of a pasting

Has anyone got an idea on how to clean chrome door handles, especially toilet door handles without causing them to tarnish? I use the usual bathroom wipes but wonder if this is correct.

Yes, I wipe down the doors, but only every few months. I also do light switches as they get grubby.

We had a property with tenants who obviously never washed their hands. All the doors and switches were black. Gross
