How to clean my walls?

Help! I have the entire family coming over at the weekend and have just realised that the walls in my kitchen and hallway have taken a bit of a battering from toddlers and dogs - mud, black marks, grease marks on the kitchen walls. All painted walls, cream/white. Short of repainting bits of wall or providing blinkers to all family members, what can I use/do to make them look a bit better?

Sugar soap wipes. Easier and less fuss than the paste. You can get them in places like B&Q.

Sugar soap
Or some ammonia and hot water

I've just bought concentrated sugar soap to do the same from Wickes on recommendation from the estate agent, before we rent out our house.

Does it take off a layer of paint? I dont want to ruin the walls

Thank you, I'll be off in search of sugar soap tomorrow!

Sugar soap as the others have said, but if you have cheap paint it will remove some. Or magic sponges.

Magic eraser sponges, seriously they are amazing, my son drew all over my living room wall with a felt tip pen and it cleared it right off
