Help with faux fur throw possibly ruined in wash

Hi about 5 years ago we were bought a beautiful cream faux fur throw which is always on our bed. I usually wash it every couple of months on a cool quick wash and its always come out looking like new, except this time.

It has come out of the wash like its had a super tight perm? popped it in the dryer as usual and that didn't help.

I am begging for help. Has anyone else had this? is there a way to get it back to normal?

It was a present that we cant afford to replace and we love it, I think I will cry if I've ruined it

Have you tried 'grooming' it? I always brush out my faux fur with an old plastic hairbrush after washing as it gets rid of that matted look. Good luck!

Thank you RatherNot I did try that but didn't work. I even washed it again today. It's like its suddenly had a poodle perm instead of nice and fluffy. I think I will just admit defeat.
