My DS had an accident in my bed.I can't afford to replace the mattress and wondered if anyone knows of a solution. I have heard that bicarbonate of soda works, has anyone tried this?

Thanks!

Yes it works bit needs to be applied when stain still wet. Sprinkle on copiously. Leave to dry then Hoover out.

I used vinager and water to scrub it, blotted it dry then chucked lots of bicarbonate on and left it to dry. Then hovered the bicarbonate off. Certainly killed the smell.

A solution of biological washing powder will sort it!

Thanks! I'm going to try all of those. Here's hoping the mattress can be saved!!

One of my sons was a bedwetter until eight or nine, and we just sprayed the mattress down with Lysol.
After he stopped entirely, we got a new mattress, as that one still smelled faintly.
