Just seen this mentioned on an old thread about employing cleaners

Is it any good. How do you use it please? I mainly use kitchen/bathroom sprays and flash on the floor.

It's basically washing up liquid, but yellow.

thanks guys how would you use it instead of sprays though? Just a solution of water with it in?

It does tell you the exact amounts to use on the bottle but yes you can dilute it with water.

I just squirt it on my floors (the ammonia one and sparingly too ) then use a damp mop to wipe it up with but thats because im lazy

Its fantastic stuff. I use it for just about everything, a bottle lasts for ages. I make up a spray bottle, dliute it with about eight parts water to one part stardrops and just use star drops and hot water for the majority of cleaning around the house. Its particularly good for getting a streak free finish on the shower screen etc.

I use it neat on greasy marks on clothes before putting them in the washing machine. You can use it for washing the car. You can use it for anything really!

Yes, dilute it in a spray bottle and use for EVERYTHING!

I use Fairy washing up liquid instead of Stardrops as I think it is "purer".

I'm probably wrong - am I? (a few drops of Fairy liquid and some white vinegar in a spray bottle cleans almost my whole house with minimal chemicals)

I just found the following on MSE forum. Sounds as if Fairy liquid is less chemical.



"STARDROPS contains the following ingredients:-
Water (Aqua)
Sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate
Alkyl ether sulphate
Alcohols C9-11 ethoxylated
Bitrex (Denatonium benzoate) solution
Perfume
Limonene (Dipentene)
Bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol)
Colour

I would say (and I'm dredging up long-forgotten chemistry lessons here so anyone with more knowledge, please feel free to contradict), is that the difference between them is that Fairy has sodium lauryl sulphate, which is basically a detergent (found in practically all foaming cleaners, including bath foam and shampoo), whereas Stardrops uses sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, and benzene, being a solvent, probably increases the cleaning power. "

When I bought a bottle it worked fine but I noticed it foamed up a lot more than normal all purpose cleaner. Like washing up liquid would. It didn't really matter as the foam disappeared when it dried though
