Is there much difference between a 12.5 and 15 tog duvet?

I am replacing a 15 tog duvet. We cant find this weight anywhere any more so maybe they have stopped making them? Found 12.5 tog but once box seal open I cannot take back so cant see how heavy it is. Thanks in advance.

I needed 15 tog too in my old house. The only way I could find one was to get one of those All Seasons ones with the two different weights which popper together to make 15 tog. It is feather and completely gorgeous.

wow - all my old ones were 15 tog - must have gone out of fashion. And my house is old and cold too.

Sure. Thanks for looking for me at all. Do you think there is very much difference between the 2 weights?

have never had a 15tog as despite living in Scotland we don't go higher than 10.5tog

We've got 13.5 tog which is toasty -ASDA basic ones.

Yes there is a difference and fair bit of difference. If your house tends to be chilly or you feel the cold in winter - you wont like 12.5togs.

15 togs are still out there. Check Debenhams - sometimes they have them in the sale.

Yes, there is a difference! I used to live in a flat without double glazing and we could see out breath in the winter inside the flat! Also, sometimes we found ice on our beds. And that with the heating on all night sometimes (it was an old cottage in London). I was using a 13.5 tog one and once I got the 15 tog duvet it was so much better.

Worriedsick100 - have been sent this link from Amazon today - has 15tog duvets on amongst others which I thought you may find useful - great prices too - the deal is only on for 6 more days though so need to be quick if you haven't purchased one already :-)

Friend recently bought a 15tog so I know they're available, but I don't need one as I put one of the summer-weight spares on the mattress/under bottom sheet and sleep in a toasty-sandwich with a 12.5tog on top.

15 togs are readily available. Lots on ebay and Amazon, and also here . However, I don't think the extra 1.5 tog over a 13.5 tog makes that much difference, as long as the 13.5 tog is well made.
