Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner?

We have cats so need one that can pick up cat hair & is relatively lightweight. I hate the one we have but DH bought it before we got together & is strangely reluctant to change. Anyone got a fab one I can tempt him with?

I hear the Miele cat and dog one is excellent.

I recently got a dyson that's brilliant. We have a town house so lugging the old dyson upright up and down stairs was a pain, the new one is much lighter weight.

We have a Labrador who is capable of making our cream carpets black, but this does a great job, really powerful suction. It also has attachments for everything.

I'm doing a spring clean today and its making it much less painful, do most of the dusting and cobwebs etc with it.

Sebo X4 Pet. It's the best quality appliance I think I've ever had.

Hi

I bought a new one after my Henry died. It was recommended by the Which? website - it is the Miele Ecoline: here is a link for John Lewis
www.johnlewis.com/miele-s8340-ecoline-solution-cylinder-vacuum-cleaner-ivory-cream/p231656324?kpid=231656324&s_kenid=06afdaf7-3b8d-de49-4b14-000047498cb3&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73 although we bought it elsewhere

I can honestly say it is the best vacuum I have ever had - the carpets look cleaner after I use it which with a messy 3 year old is at least once a day. It is strange to change heads (from carpet to laminate) but I found I have now got a "system" and although bags are expensive I only have a 3 bed flat so I only change roughly 4 -6 weeks so not too bad. So all in all very pleased. Oh and the dusting brush is great for cleaning the glass tv table too as well as cobwebs!

Agree with Hercy above - Dyson animal is brilliant! (Have had Miele and Hoover in the past and this is way better than both IMO). Bagless is such a benefit, and emptying is dead easy.

Miele. Our Miele one just died, after 16 years (the dust got it in the end, we did our house up). It's allowed after 16 years coping with kids and dogs.
We got a new Miele from JL. not the c&d (although we still have a dog), that one was over budget.
The new one is so good, we had to retrieve socks, puzzle pieces and various other stuff from the bag. Have to be careful with the dog, might de-hair it by accident Wink
