Getting rid of Febreeze smell

I have just bought a secondhand sofa and it absolutely stinks of febreeze. I have removed and washed everything I can, but most of the fabric/foam is fixed on. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? I absolutely hate the smell of febreeze and it always makes me worry about what terrible thing happened to necessitate a febreeze bath (where the previous owners dog died of lung cancer?)

Could you maybe get someone in to steam clean it? That way the fixed fabric would get cleaned & it would feel more hygienic if steam cleaned as original smell that was being masked would be removed as well as the Fabreeze.
