Dusty wardrobe

Jemster · 06/02/2013 12:02

I'm clearing out my wardrobe, I have two rails, bottom one for things worn all time and very high, hard to reach top one for very occasional wears.
The clothes on the top one are a but dusty and even look a bit faded, not nice! I will be giving it all a good clean but how do you stop this happening?
Do you regularly 'dust' your wardrobes? Clearly I don't!!

I don't dust mine.

I have everything on one rail though, and get rid of everything that's not worn regularly.

I Hoover out all my wardrobes every couple of months. The will get dusty and grim if you don't.

I also had to ban my DH from spraying antiperspirant in the bedroom because that seem to leave a layer of 'dust' and smell on everything.

I put tissue paper sheets over clothes I don't wear very often that hang for a long time in the wardrobe.

you can get large, clear recycling bags near the bin-liner shelf.

plastic crates are even better.

If it is white dust it will be exfoliated skin getting in because the wardrobe doors are not a tight fit.

hoovering more will keep it down.

I keep things in zip-up hanging bags and/or throw a blanket over the clothes rail
