Food processors

Sorry, boring and I know it's been done before, but my food processor of circa 20 years duration has died a death, so I need another.
Thinking either the Magimix or Cuisinart, both about £250-270. Both look similar, with similar reviews.
Any comments anyone?
Thanks

Hairy

We have the magimix (4200?). Really pleased with it. I'm not mega adventurous when it comes to cooking but it easily does the job in terms of chopping, grating, pastry/dough etc. Also has a blender mix attachment which is handy for soup & baby food.

I have a magimix 3200. I LOVE it! :)
Mind I've never had another food processor to compare it with.

Thank you both.
It's the 4200 I was looking at.
Looks like the Magimix is edging it. Grin

I have the Magimix. It is good if you do lots of baking, i.e. large quantities of butter icing etc. - no problem, it is very powerful.

I do find it a drawback that you cannot change its speed. Sometimes I would like to start at a low speed and then turn it up, that is not possible.

Also, I find that for bread dough it is not that brilliant. Same for pasta dough.

Also, with its accessories, it will take up quite a lot of space.

I am happy to have it though, just not sure I would buy it again.

I have the 5200 XL if that helps.

Its a Robocop all the way, all other food processors/mixers are toys but you do pay for the quality.

Thansk everyone.
I've ordered a 4200xl.
I'll let you know what I think once I've had a play. Smile

Magimix is just amazing. I bought the 4200. It?s not only one of the best baby food processors, but I also use if for our own meals whenever I cook for the family. It?s been with me for quite sometime now and there are no complaints from my end.

I have the Magimix 5200 XL. I really rate it. My blender died last week so I used the Magi to blend the soup and I was really happy with the results.

I would highly recommend the Magimix ice cream maker with built in compressor though -- REALLY impressive. Just put in a tub of nice fruit yoghurt whilst having dinner and 40 minutes later you have the most wonderful ice cream ....
