I need to clean carpets / rug fairly often as have dd and dogs etc so thinking of investing in a vax.

Is it any good or are there better models and makes out there?

Thank you

I have a Bissel. It is brilliant. I bought it reconditioned several years ago. It's a bit of a beast but makes a really good job of the carpets.
They all get through stupid amounts of extortionate carpet cleaner, I dilute mine to make it go further

Hi, I have a Vax (v dual one ?) which i got to replace a vax rapide about 6 months ago. It was on offer at amazon so better than 1/2 price :)

Its reasonably heavy when moving up/ down stairs and is bulky to store, but with dogs, toddlers and cream carpets its great.

Its easy to set up (you have seperate water and shampoo sections so no mixing) and leaves carpet almost dry. I find just using the water only option gives a great clean. I also like that you can take it all apart to clean (dog hair gets everywhere) and the handheld part has rotating brushes so stairs come up lovely too.

Its 100% better at cleaning than my old rapide vax was

Thank you very much Yule and Ember. Both sound great. Im going to research prices now and will let you know what I decide. Isn't life sad when excitement is over a carpet cleaner! Xmas Wink
