I was about to put a new tie on DH's Christmas list but went through a bag and found 12 (12!) ties he has been given over the years. All good quality, Harrods etc., but quite creased. Will I destroy them by ironing them? Disclaimer: I don't DO ironing usually, so I slightly fear it blush

Yes - but put a damp teatowel over them and iron over the tea towel

No idea. I don't wear ties. I don't know whether DP can iron his or not.

No

the seam on the back with show through to the front. If necessary, they can be loosely rolled, and put in a sock for a delicates wash, and dried, hanging, after you have smoothed them flat by hand.

If you insist on ironing them, just do the broad part of the blade, and put a thick pad made of folded hankies or cardboard inside to prevent the seam embossing it. Don't try to iron the narrow part.

Ask Santa to bring a tie-hanger.
