Can I use washing machine with the top off?

I have just moved house and my washing machine wouldn't fit under the counter in the kitchen so the removal man took the top of the washing machine. My question is it safe to use my washing machine like this?

I would check with the manufacturer. Washing machines & appliances that use water with electricity are double insulated to avoid shock. I think if the top was removed it may not be safe.

We took top off our washer so it would fit under worktop, it's been three years and works fine. Literally mm between machine and worktop so its protected from fingers and dirt
