Blinds for a 'Velux' type window

I'm wondering if anyone can help please? We are shortly moving into a converted barn and in the bedrooms we will have velux type windows. I say type because they have been made (perfectly) by the carpenter. Where do I buy blinds from and what do I ask for?

I wouldn't bother with any myself but hubby will be awake at the first glimpse of daylight, I think they will need to be blackout blinds.

If they were proper velux windows, then on the frame it would have a series of numbers/letters. For example GGL S06 ( which is on ours) then you go to an online shop and order some. As those number/letters denotes the size.

But as they are 'homemade' I would have no idea!

Hi, any local curtain and blind shop should be able to get made to measure roof blinds supplied and fitted for you. We do them at work - if they aren't standard velux then they may be a little more expensive but you can definitely get them.

If you're getting bespoke blinds make sure you get side channels to block out light at the sides (for bedrooms). Otherwise it's really bright!

I bought blinds for my velux windows from a company On eBay. They aren't proper velux blinds but 'for velux windows'. They are about half the price and perfectly good. Maybe you could measure the size of your windows and see how they correspond to velux sizes (codes GL546 or whatever). If you're lucky and theyre the same size, you can look on eBay. Otherwise, bespoke.

Thank you all so much, I think I'll go to a local shop bodiddly, because I know they are not real velux. Also lightrain thank for the tip about the sides, I wouldn't have thought about that.
