Dyson ball

I have a DC25 and hoping some of you ladies out there are more knowledgeable than me :)

Had all the ceilings replastered and painted in house, workman has done good job cleaning up after himself with his Henry and also used the dyson.

My question is - do you know whether you can clean the whole canister bit with water (where cyclone bit is I presume) or is it best left alone. I clean the filters regularly but tbh the whole inside is covered in a white layer that looks like it could rinse out.

Main motor appears to be in ball.....
