Miele or Sebo vacuum cleaner?

Which would be best? Are they worth the cost. I have heard that the Sebo is not a proper Hepa filter... have you heard this?

I have a cheapish cleaner, but my carpets are just not getting clean enough...

I love my Miele, it's absolutely fantastic and it cost £30 for a 10 year warranty when we bought it in John Lewis.

Have heard good things about sebo's too though.

My parents love their Sebo, yet I've heard so much good about Mieles!

I'm after a bagged upright vacuum cleaner, but at the price these are, I want to be sure!!!

My Miele is not upright and can't compare to a Sebo but would definitely recommend it. We also have a Miele washing machine.

I like both - the Miele can be too heavy for some. The sebo is very light and does a better job on the carpets IMO.

We also have a Miele vacuum (non upright) and washing machine and really happy with both. I'm teeny and don't find the Miele too heavy, but I don't like really light vacuums as I like them to stay put while I'm hoovering.

I have both, the Miele for upstairs and the Sebo for downstairs, The Sebo upright is better at raising the pile on my pure wool carpet, the Miele just slides over it. Both fantastic, my Sebo is probably 10 years old and still going strong, considering I trashed 3 Dysons in a year, says a lot for it's endurance.
All I have replaced is the cord as the housekeeper kept running over it!

Ooh Sebo is coming back... I think the Sebo is slightly cheaper, but I want a proper allergy filter... and I'm unsure as to whether the Sebo offers this

i have the Sebo and it has a hospital grade hepa filter, 99.99% of allergens etc.
Its the best vac I have ever had, it propels itself along, like power steering, and picks up fantastically well.

Can I add, that sebos are used more often in hotels. My Miele has been returned twice, and my sebo has been no bother!

I'm coming back to the Sebo! It seems cheapest on Amazon... Are the maintainance packs worth it?

What are the maintenance packs? I've had mine 12 years and I change the filters periodically (it has two) and obviously the bag when its full.

I think just bags abd filters (just wondering whether to buy upfront (cheaper?) or just as I need it (probably will do this).

Ok, last question! My (cheap!) Panasonic is 1900 W, will a 1300 W Sebo definitely be more powerful/ do a better job?

We had a Sebo for 6 years, until it blew up. We have replaced it with a Miele upright, dh is delighted with it (he does the vacuuming). I think it is more powerful, lovely long lead and also longer hose than Sebo.

Sebo do a long hose that goes from the bottom of my stairs up to the top (16 stairs). No idea about Panasonic but Sebo seems very powerful and copes well with different surfaces - wood, rugs, carpet, tiles.

I bought a Sebo about 4 months ago - love it! As BlackCats said, it's almost self propelling, raises carpet pile nicely, bags last absolutely ages.

And, as I'm getting on a bit, I find it so much easier than the Dyson which has been relegated to upstairs.

Also, my Miele is the upstairs Hoover and my sebo downstairs. The sebo is so much easier to use on furniture ect ( btw, mine are both upright .)

am also comparing these two brands, have a Vax which is useless.......
which Sebo are we talking?these models are all 2100W, so do they all have the same suction power then?:

I was looking at the Sebo X4 Pet and trying to find a Miele equivalent.

Yes the Selbo hose has an extension, but I could never be bothered to find it and attach it, whereas the Miele one is part of it. Another difference is the Miele has a swivel head so is much easier to manoeuvre when vacuuming, I was quite surprised when I tried it as its heavy to lift, but easy to use because of that.

We have a Sebo. It's v good but quite heavy. I have to carry it upstairs when the kids want to help.
