I think our vacuum cleaner will die soon - any recommendations?

Despite hating our dyson for the first few years as bits broke off it every 3 months, I am wondering if we should get another when this one dies. We have found e-bay providers that are cheaper for providing the hoses when they break and I understand that they now have a 5 year guarantee.

What is the best dyson (for allergies) now, and is there an alternative make that is good?

My Henry is over 12 years old and has never had a replacement part.
Can't go wrong with that smiley face grin

Depends what kind of floors you have. I have the dyson that does carpet and hardwood and my dust allergy has been at a pretty low ebb all year

I think the Henry is good.
Powerful, reliable and is the one the cleaners in offices all use.
Uses a bag though, but cheap off the internet.

Forgot to say, didn't get on with Henry. We have areas where I need an upright to push as I take too long with a hose and attachment.

Anyone out there with a good Dyson?

Didn't get on with the only Miele I tried.
