How do I get rid of the smell of B.O from DS1 shirts?

Just tackled the ironing pile and as I was ironing ds1's shirts they stank of B.O. and he has rather grubby collars

Any tips on how to get rid of the smell, they have been washed

Use something like vanish stain remover spray under the arms, and wash on 60 degrees. While a 30/40 degree wash gets things 'looking' clean they don't always get them smelling clean

You could also try chucking them in the freezer overnight to kill the bacteria that is making the smell. freezer then wash again. Oh if you are using it stop using ecover. It might be good for the environment but it leaves clothes smelling nasty

Plain old washing soda. Large scoop in with your usual biological washing powder/liquid. Marvellous!

I second what WhoresHairKnickers said - the cheapest option and the one most likely to work.

  • biological powder
  • added soda crystals
  • 40 degrees
  • no softener (makes them stink more for some reason)

  • and give the shirts to your ds for ironing.

Spray a solution of white vinegar and water under the armpits. Sometimes works.

What mousymouse said. I do that but at 60 for stinky stuff. I use 3 tablespoons of powder and soda.
