Right, at them moment I'm working a lot more hours than usual and am struggling (failing) to keep even vaguely on top of things.
What jobs do you have as
A. Must be done daily
B. Must be done weekly
If you have say a 30 minute period of time what jobs do you get done first and what are your housework priorities?
I don't know if that makes sense , I suppose I'm trying to work smarter not harder IYSWIM

Not sure if this will help but here goes,
Most important at top of list:
Washing up/drying up, (daily)
Clean kitchen worktops, It is then easier to cook etc,
Clothes washing/drying (so you have clean clothes etc.)
Tidy living room (somewhere nice to chill out)
Tidyish bedroom,

Jobs for not as often I guess would be:
Dusting
cleaning other parts of house
hoovering
decluttering
ironing

Please note I am not very good at any of the above wink

priority is always kitchen and bathrooms for me

yeah i agree with snice. Hygiene in the bathroom and kitchen are my main priorities.

Daily:

wipe all kitchen surfaces with anti-bacterial stuff
wipe the bathroom sink with anti-bacterial stuff
bleach the loo

saying that i do also tidy up toys every evening in the lounge and kids rooms.
otherwise i hoover twice a week, polish/dust once a week, clean the oven once a week, and deep clean the bathroom once a week.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm also trying to come up with the cleaning equivalent of meal planning IYSWIM. i.e allocating different jobs to each day so that over the week things are kept on top of but I don't feel that housework is taking over.

Washing up, bins, laundry, buying of food
All else can wait, though hate it when bathrooms and floors get minging

Every day - fill/empty dishwasher, wipe down work benches, tidy up the worst of the mess, sweep kitchen floor if necessary.
Monday - washing (clothes)
Tuesday - washing (bedding, towels). Ironing clothes from Monday.
Wednesday - hoover/dust downstairs
Thursday - hoover/dust upstairs
Friday - weekly shop. clean loos.

However, if I'm hectic at work and so is DH (we are self-employed but I also work pt in a 'proper' job), then I will pick a moment, usually first thing in the morning, for us to have a complete blitz - it's amazing how much housework two people can get done in 60 minutes if they put their mind to it (I normally clean the loos, he hoovers/dusts)
