Getting out dried blood stains from white cotton?

What is the best way of removing the a blood stain from white cotton when it has already been washed and the stain "set". Can I bleach it? And if so, what kind of bleach can I use? Or is there a "gentle" bleach I can put into the washing machine. Or any other magic treatment?

Soda crystals, very hot water. Soak.

Napisan is often recommended on here. Or my personal preference is biotex.

If all else fails hang it out on the line for days the sun works very well. Smile

There's a story here, I'll wager. Has your DH been coming home with these stains on his clothes for a while? Any strange smells from the car boot? Shovel gone missing?

Hold the stained item under a hot running tap to 'looses' the blood then bung it through the wash with bio powder.

Do NOT use boiling water as it 'sets' the stain.

ds get huge nose bleeds, I speak from experience Grin
