How to get yellowed sheets white again?

I pulled out an old white duvet and pillowcases from the airing cupboard intending to alter them to fit a toddler duvet, but they have yellowed somewhat. Can anyone recommend a good way to whiten them up again please?

Yes, but how to use? My last experience of using bleach with fabrics resulted in holey jeans circa 1986...

Glowhite, followed by being dried in bright sunlight (ha ha in this country at the moment). The sun does work bleaching wonders.

Wash at 90 degrees with biological powder and ariel actilift stain remover. Then get them out in the sun. The sun will bleach out the yellow.

Put about 1 or 2 caps of bleach in the prewash.
or what bumbum says.
yes the sun will bleach it out but you need to lay the sheet flat on the ground on grass (oxygen release + UV = bleaching), might not be that easy to do...

Glowhite or Ariel Actilift both as good as each other and I have had very white whites after using them as when came out of the PACKET were yellow compared to the others. they all match now though. I shove GW or AA in with my whites every time though as I am a bit obsessed about it.

sometimes it storing the sheets in the airing cupboard that makes them yellow I put mine in the drawers under the bed so its not as warm.

To bleach just mix some bleach with detergent in a bucket of water, and soak your sheet for one to two days (it might need to be longer, depending on how yellow your sheet is - once I had to soak a shirt for a week). After that, wash it normally.
