Have Ikea stopped Svala wooden table and chairs?

I may end up the only post on this thread (!) but I wondered if anyone else knew anything I didn't.

We went to Ikea yesterday and our lounge is now full of Billy and Trofast... I really wanted a little wooden table and chairs and the only one they had had a white top and white tops on the chairs which I wasn't really looking for. I really wanted the Svala chair and table as they were quite cheap but still looked ok. Looking online now it seems no stores in the south have them in stock or know when they are getting more. Does that mean they are no more?! Trauma!?

The closes thing I can find is in Toys R us but at £30 more.... harumph.

Out of stock in Scotland too.

I just received a new kids table and chair set from Argos yesterday, this here

They were on sale when I bought them, so bit more expensive than the ikea set, but they are really lovely and solid and will last well.

I tried to buy a white one last september and there were none. I got a wooden one and painted it. They had the wooden ones in milton keynes a few weeks ago. Damn shame the white ones were great.

If you look on their website, there is a link on the bottom right hand side that gives you stock estimates in each store ... not sure where you live but it says there is one left in Milton Keynes .... run, run run!

I wouldn't trust the stock availability on the website. We went to Birmingham the other week (not our closest store) because they were showing as having 47 units of the particular Expedit unit we wanted and our local Ikea was showing as out of stock. When we got there they only had two units available and both were damaged. We weren't happy!
