How do you measure a window for curtains

If, for example, your window measures 200cm, do you look for curtains of that width or do you look for 100cm, get 2 and that adds up to 200? Yes, I really am that thick!

Your curtains should be 1.5 times the width of your windows (to allow for the gathers in the material) so you need to look for curtains that are 300cm wide for a 200cm window. They should come in a pack of two but would only measure 150cm each.
hth?

So, -on the pack- when I'm giving the measurements to my supplier, would it read 150cm or 300cm? No, really, I am!

How are you going about buying these? are you getting them ready made in a packet somewhere like Debenhams? or is someone makeing them for you? or are you ordering them online?

Don't worry, it's surprisingly complicated to work out if you've never done it before.
