getting whites white

I'm struggling to get school shirts anything like white, especially round the neck in suncream season. I have always used ecover liquid for environmental reasons but really fed up with grubby necklines. I wash whites at 40 degrees. Do I just need to change to a different powder/liquid or does anyone have a secret?

biotex.

soak or use as prewash.

Good luck!

never heard of that. if I used that as prewash would it still be ok to use ecover for main wash?

Vanish granules.
Not sure how eco they are tbh, but they do work, and you can add them only to the washes which really bother you.

old fashioned washing soda added to the washing powder helps

Soda crystals do exactly the same job as all the expensive alternatives, at a fraction of the price.

I second soda crystals. I binned fabric conditioner a few months ago after I ran out and realised that actually I didn't need it at all. Soda crystals soften water and generally give your detergent more oompth. And all for 90p for a bag.
