Rust and cup marks on wood unit in kitchen - help!

Well normally with wood you can sand down to get rid of stuff like that, but you mean it has some kind of paint over it as well?

Could you repaint the whole thing?

Not sure about rust, but watermarks (if it is solid wood) can be removed as follow: cover with thin tea towel, heat iron to medium heat and iron over tea towel, keep iron moving, check after a few minutes if the marks become smaller/disappear. If not, set iron on high setting, repeat. If still marks, iron on high heat without tea towel but keep iron moving otherwise you will get burn marks. Has always worked for me.

we get rid of white cup rings on wooden furniture with duraglit and then normal furniture polish. Grandmother's tip, no idea how it works but promise you that it does wink
