Worn, but not actually dirty clothes are taking over my bedroom!

Old habits die hard.... I fold my pyjamas under my pillow every morning, but my mum said to never hang worn clothes back in the wardrobe. But you can't wash EVERYTHING every day so I have clothes a mountain on my bedroom chair. T-shirts go in the wash, but loose top-layer tops, trousers, jumpers get beautifully laid over the back of a chair - until it topples over. And it's a habit I just can't seem to shift.

What does everyone else do?

But what's with the draping anyway? Do we really think we are 'airing' them when they are 20 garments deep?

I do the same. I also pile them up rather than hang them up in the wardrobe if I want them out of sight.

I'm similar - can't leave the bedroom if pjs not put away and bed not made - but trousers and jumpers deffo go back in the wardrobe. Anything that could have been in contact with my pits are left out to hang.
Go on, start with the trousers, I'm sure your mother would agree with me

i hang them back in the wardrobe and i dont smell. if you really dont want to do that then put them on hangers and hang them in the bathroom overnight leaving the window open then hang in the wardobe in the morning or wear them.

What reason does your Mum give for not doing that?

I think it was just this idea of clothes 'airing' and I never had anywhere else to put them other than on a chair. But now both DC are doing it too and it's driving me nuts! I think I will follow BooyHoo and at least fold or hang them overnight and then try to put away the next morning. I was just interested to see if anyone else was the same.

I was given a free standing old fashioned coat and hat stand a couple of years ago and now use this in the corner of the bedroom. The typical style, four splayed legs, a ring futher up and further up still huge double branched hooks. All worn but not ready for washing clothes go on it. It's next to a window so the clothes air. Then I put some back into the wardrobe

I tend to do the same as I don't want to wash cardigans everytime and jeans i wear in the evening (not for work). I hang up things on the wardrobe door.

I think getting rid of the chair is a good idea. But then I'll probably just put things on the floor

If you are tight for space, how about puting hooks on the outside of doors, high up of course so you don't get hit by them? You can get rows of hooks on brackets that fit over the top of the door frame that do not interfer with closing the door and require no diy.

i have a box under my bedside table. Worn but clean things are put in there and generally pulled out to wear first thing in the morning until i've done my jobs and showered.

I hang them back in the wardrobe, but at one end so they don't get mixed up with the properly clean clothes.
