I have just been looking at reviews on line and quite frankly there are too many bloody machines to choose from .

So do you think I can get away with not spending a fortune ?

Hopefully the answer to that is yes and if so can you please recommend me one .

TIA

Get one of the John Lewis ones they have really long guarantees.

Which had a thing on budget washing machines this month - though iirc 'budget meant about £400.

Hang on, I'll have a look..

Ok, their cheapest best buy is the Beko WME7247W, which is £290 at Argos & Comet. It scores 71% and three stars for reliability and apparently washes as well as the Bosch best buy. In fact all the best buys at £300 or under are Beko - the WM7335W is £300 and the WM6123 W is £240 - but apparently that one takes a long time on it's easy care program.

Don't get BEKO! We've just had to throw one out - less than 2yrs old. Replaced it with an AEG (£345 from John Lewis) in November and it came with 5yr guarantee. Love the new one.

BlooKangaWonders · 15/01/2011 21:22

AGree with John Lewis - free 5 year guarantee. Which they honoured when ds left a coin in his trousers and it got stuck in the drum. New machine with no problem or delay. :)

I think cheap but with no electronic gadget things - the "brain" in my maching died within 18 months!

I get cheap machine and 5 year warranty.
