Everyone sounds really down

swan your parent eve sounded depressing, I'm sure things are not as bad as they sound! Hope op goes ok today.

ofm childminder sounds crackers, are you going to try another? There are lovely ones around, but they do charge more than the grots in my experience. I went to see 5 when DS went to one (5 years ago) and only 1 was any good, but she was the priciest (I didn't care!)
Otherwise, try to have an easy week of it.

scatty job situation sounds stressful, hope it gets better soon

everyone hi

I'm still hanging in there, 38 weeks this week, starting to be a bit more tired! DS's birthday party went well on Saturday, we had a very busy weekend. House is a a tip so off to sort it now ... just want to have permanently tidy house for imminent arrival of baby! Not for the baby, for me so I don't have to worry about it! Untidy house and dirt makes me STRESSED! LOL

Hope everyone is OK this week and making progress.

It's tipping it down here, ds1 had a major meltdown about getting ready for school this morning and dh is abroad with work.

However, I did a major blitz on ds1's bedroom this morning as ds2 fancied a nap. How is it possible for a 3 year old's bedroom to be so messy Shock. I dread to imagine what it will be like when he's a teenager Confused.

So, today's jobs...
Wash spare quilt done
Clean ds1's bedroom done
Pick ds1 up from nursery and feed sprogs done
Unload and load dishwasher
Tidy kitchen and clean surfaces
Deal with pile of random paper in lounge
Party invitations for ds1's 4th b'day
Hoover lounge
Plough on with the ironing pile.

ds's op has gone fine, metal plate in his leg has been removed, and we are back home, but slow and gentle recovery, bedrest, crutches that sort of thing required over next two to three weeks before he's back at school. I think he's looking forward to it, that's as long as I get my act together and don't flap.

Now feeling very tired after day in hospital starting at 8am - how do you lovely ladies who work in hospitals manage at all? - and everyone so smiley and nice (although I did hear some politicking.

Funtime hope you get party invites done, near the date but not too near! (a few refusals always come in handy...Blush
They do hate getting ready don't they, I think they just hate to be disturbed in the middle of somethng..

OFM hope you manage today and turn the lights down low and enjoy coming home on this dismal evening (very cold and dreary here)

Wendy good luck with the final two weeks. I can't think of any useful advice, I don't think I heeded anyone's useful advice myself anyway Hmm
except one lovely midwife who instructed me to put baby in pram, and walk to a cake shop!

Oh yes and I wish I'd spent more money on that instant formula you get in cartons, for emergencies/top ups.
And spent more time watching tv! and cuddling baby simultaneously.

Hi all.

Hope things seem better today OFM.

funtime 3 yos very messy, like to get everything out but never put anything back. Ds creates much less mess since he became PS2/comp obsessed (Hmm mixed blessing).

wendy 38 wks Shock.

swan glad DS ok.

Hi prof.

Blimey swan, I missed all this (I didn't even attempt any real tidying up last week). A relief that your ds is OK!

Hi swan glad ds is ok, hope you can be kind to yourself this next few weeks and focus on him not the housework!
prof LOL it seems a bit longer to me!! I am tired and have been cleaning today, but my mum did come and help.

I seem to be able to suddenly eat a lot more than I have been able to - cue lots of cake and lots of bigger portions. Baby must have dropped a bit. Moving around is very painful though with feet kicking me in the ribs etc. Feeling a bit nostalgic, last pregnancy syndrome, will never go through this again Sad but Smile

see you tomorrow

Hi everyone

Swan - glad DS operation went well.
Wendy - God, I hated the last few weeks of pregnancy even more than the rest of it Grin
Prof - what Op will DD need?

Well, I got soaked on the school runs today. I have 2 very tired DDs, and I am juggling work, school, house etc.

Ahem, not that I'm a control freak or anything....but, as I'm back for a bit:

This week is the kitchen zone
And here is Kelly's mission

Thanks for the links Toto! You're right, we are very lapsed Flyladies here these days without links or proper Fly lists!

A free morning, I have no car as DH has taken mine, his in the garage. It's only a 5 min (brisk) walk to town but I fear I can't manage it these days [wimp emo] so going to potter instead.

List
Tidy living room and dust it
Ponder moving out dining table for a few weeks to cut down on cleaning Grin - we have a table in the kitchen
make cheese sausages for tea done
swimming lessons
rest!!!
playdough or similar with DD

Well, the minute the twins left the house for school on went CBeebies, but I could see that was going to end in very bad temper so now he is reading picture books and being forced to listen to Radio 3.
Hook next Grin
must rush upstairs now

Thanks for links. Kitchen is justabout bearable, so might concentrate on making a list of what I don't have in the cupboards/fridge.

Remember swan to concentrate on DS that is what is important these next few weeks! Perhaps you could make the housework educational? I'm sure making a list of what is in the cupboards is good spelling practice, and adding up prices on Tesco.com could be numeracy?!!

Well, I just went in to talk to ds and he said Go Away Mummy, I'd like to watch Hook by myself Grin. Oh and bring me some juice!
have plans to do a lot of filing in hs room etc, laptop might be incendiary.

so far done lots of washing, and chatting and not much else Blush

I need to start tackling Xmas - it should be easy once I decide what lengths or otherwise I'm going to go to Hmm meaning what is ESSENTIAL for xmas, and what optional work (whatever joy making homemade presents brings, cannot see t being essential Blush Ditto things like special stuffing and cakes, what do I actually want to do, and what do I NEED to do...

toys with idea of making own xmas cake from existing over abundant storecupboard nearly off ingredients...but then who will eat it? Probably me Blush

ds not a happy bunny, feeling miserable and fed up already. I am in his room ironing. Downstairs not quite comfortable enough at present.

Poor DS, swan. I agree about Xmas, there is too much pressure on everyone what with Kirsty and her home made home lark. I make a Xmas cake recipe called 'Last minute Xmas cake' which is yummy and nearly as good as the matured, brandy fed version I used to make pre-children! I do homemade Xmas cards with the children, just as one of the usual crafts I'd do anyway. Sometimes I do homemade mint chocolate, which is just melted choc with crushed X strong mints, which takes very little time and goes down well. otherwise, that's it! Not sure what we're doing for Xmas this year. I love Xmas dinner but with us being veggie and the rest of the family normal meat eaters (!), and added things like MIL not liking dried fruit or chocolate, my Dad being gluten intolerant etc etc it makes life very difficult to cater for all. Tempted to do it at ours for ease but get everyone else to bring it all and just make our veggie main! LOL

We are going to have main course vegetarian Xmas here, as DB and SIL are vegetarian. Not decided what to have yet.

Ds much chirpier after nurofen, I think it is just pain that gets one down. We have been chatting away, so that is very nice, and had lots of instant Indian snacks, onion bhajis etc.

Swan - my biggest Xmas timer saver has been veg delivery. I currently use an organic scheme (//www.riverford.co.uk) to fill in the allotment gaps, but if you've got a local greengrocer, most will deliver an Xmas order free. I just take a list in at the end of November and they deliver on 23rd or 24th. I've done this in several places I've lived over the years and it's great. No having to leave it late to make sure that it's fresh or fighting over the last sprouts. No stress Grin!

Great to hear that the operation went well Smile.

FuntimeWe have a lovely veg box, which sends double at Xmas! So no problems there (except of course the turnips - I should be less lazy and order specific things, but do love the way it just arrives - maybe at Xmas I will have to plan what I am going to cook)

Everyone is home now, sooo cold outside.
Ds2 has had piano (he came home with a duet for me to share Hmm) and dd has had football. Coach asked her to come along to tennis at local sports club too on Sat, so she is evidently considered enthusiastic/coordinated.
No homework either - things are looking up!

Grin Swan. Where in the country are you? Stockley Farm is our nearest base and they have some lovely events which are free to customers. I'm pleased that you're feeling a bit better, take it easy though.
