Steam cleaner or Vileda spray mop?

I'm having trouble trying to decide between a steam cleaner and (what seems to be) a really good mop. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

I'd only really need it for the kitchen floor. Would a steam cleaner be worth the extra expense? One advantage of the steam cleaner is that it has a detachable hand held steamer for doing the hob. But I don't one if it'd be suitable for any other surfaces. Maybe the sinks, the bath?

This is the mop:

And I have my eye on either of these two steam cleaners:

Hi Nina,

If you only need the mop for cleaning the floor, the Vileda spray mop is a good choice to do the job.

If you are going for a steam cleaner out of the two you are looking at, I would go for the Vax steam cleaner.

If you need any other help I have reviews of other Vax steam cleaners on my website at:

I hope this is of some help.

Thank you, I was leaving more towards the Vax out of the two steam cleaners. Might just go with the mop though, it's got rave reviews but if it just sprays and then you mop it up I could spray stuff myself and mop it up with a much cheaper mop. Would the microfiber be absorbant enough?

Argh! I'd hoped to get a mop (or steam cleaner) before the baby arrives and he's due in a few weeks now.
