i currently have my dd's name on a waiting list for a school, she should of started reception last sept but we didn't get our first choice of school, we are currently home schooling until we get a place at our preffered school, this has all been agreed through our lea.

If you deregister her from school, then the school has a duty to inform the LA that you are home educating.
It seems to me that most parents are contacted really quite quickly after deregistration.

However if I were in your postion, i would contact the LA myself, in the interests of efficiency and making sure things happen as you want them to.
