Come and be smug with me....

....that your kids aren't going back to school tomorrow!

I know, I hate smugness and gloating really, it's nasty and I can't do it with half of my friends as their children are back in school tomorrow. So I could be smug that we aren't going anywhere near a school, but then I'd lose half my friends.

It's weird, it's been 2 and a half years now since my youngest first came out of school, but I still get so, so happy when I realise term is starting and we don't have to do that any more. So as celebration, tomorrow we are off to the ice rink at the Natural History Museum with a bunch of other home educators. I can sort of gloat to them but most have never been in school in the first place, so I don't think they get quite the feeling I do, though they will be sympathetic to my smugness!

So, anyone else doing something fun tomorrow? Anyone else feeling happy? Post here!

Hi music posy - Im feeling exactly the same as you, quietly smug

Both my kids are so much happier now that they dont go to school - advice from mnetters (including you!) who already HE'd helped us make that decision in July so thankyou and heres to a fabulous HEing 2010

Assuming the whole badman thing gets quashed of course (the black cloud over EH)

I am jealous that we dont own a helicopter so we could fly to london and join you tommorrow

I so envy you. I dropped my two youngest off at school this morning. They were both in tears. I just wish I could persuade DH it is not right for them to go. You are very lucky people

Smug definitely!
Especially when we can all stay snuggled up in bed with a book on cold mornings!

It was Officially our first day of HE today...had planned to take my dds (6) to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green to celebrate Not Having To Get Up for school

Was madly excited- got up before the kids, when it was still dark, to scribble lists- then developed a really eeeevil migraine and had to retire to my bed where I got read Mr Men stories for the nth time. Spent the rest of the day wincing at the noise of the Hot Wheels set and Sponge Bob dvds

...still. We can now do what we want, and when we want (well, almost)

pure niceness!

...and nooooooo more Biff and Chip. woo hoo!
