Desperate to get back to normal! We've been dying to get to museums etc these few weeks but haven't because we know we won't get to see anything till the screaming hoardes disappear in Sept. Although we've worked off and on throughout the holidays, it's still been inconsistent because of visits to 'in-school' friends and local authority activities that we can only access at this time of the year. It's realy held us up and I want our usual home ed life back.

Mind you, it makes me feel so relieved not to be part of threads about parental anxiety over school uniforms, playground politics, how will my SN child cope when there's not enough support for him. SO pleased we don't have to face that rubbish any more .

The thing about extra visits and schedules and plans. I was already dead nervous about the LEA inspections last time we did it and only had one before I caved to family pressure and sent him to school.

I'm not so worried now, but we had assurance from the LA that nothing was going to change for us, as we are already known and already accept a yearly visit.
We don't submit any plans but may have to this year, I don't know yet.

I was thinking I might write ours and post them up so that others can cut n paste if they wish. It's so hard writing from scratch isn't it?

In the main we are Autonomous so I'll be submitting last years plans for this year and working like that (see Sorky is a genius thread)

Mixed feelings here. But that's because I've got some in school aswell as some home-ed. Plus one of my home-ed lot has decided to start secondary school. So will have to see how that goes, too.

remember oh incognito flight that the law has not changed yet. So you do not have to accept visits yet. The ptb (powers that be) need to jump various parlimentary hurdles before that will be the case - Spring 2010 at the very earliest.

It's good that they are not changing your visits. I guess it's perhaps more of a threat for those who don't really, well, educate their children as such...

yes very tempted to do it again. I'm in a better position now to organise the social element, so will be considering it seriously if they still refuse to pick up on probable dyslexia like they did last year. I'm waiting to have him properly assessed by a family friend which should give me ammo anyway, whatever we do.
