New Social Networking Site for Home Educators

I just posted this on "How to find other HE-ers" but thought I'd give post it seperately too.. hope you don't mind!

A couple of us have started a new social network on Ning for UK Home Educators... ukhefriends.ning.com/ ... and we'd love you all to join us!

We felt there was a desperate need for home-educators to be able to get together and socialise in a friendly, private, yet inclusive environment. On this network we hope that people will be able to make friends, either in their local area or anywhere they're interested in, and organise meet-ups relevent to their family's needs.

The group is private, so non-members will not be able to view or participate in any way.

Hope to see you there!

That's a great idea - I'd love to join something like this when my DS is a bit older if we do decide to HE. Is it free?

Beanpip - thankyou so much for starting this site

It feels like a lifeline
I have just seen my profile on there and your lovely message and am now crying heaps

The last few months have been so difficult for ds. Today was a final straw for him really. He was shouting and kicking the teachers at school

He says if I send him tommorrow he is going to make sure he gets sent to the head so he can kick her really hard

Me thinks my mumsnet addiction will now be shared between here and your lovely site

I havent figured out quite how it all works yet - it seems easy enough though. I havent found the HE Special list easy at all so your great site is marvellous for me

gush gush gush with happiness

Oh Yurtgirl - you poor thing - and your poor little guy. Oh god its totally heartbreaking what schools can do to some children. Is he OK today? Are you going to send him back or just keep him off school from now on? If you need to talk feel free to contact me here or on the UKHEFriends site OK? xx
