Can anyone recommend a good interactive language program for children?

My girls have been casually learning French and Spanish since they were 4. I'd like to find something more formal for my 8 year old to start this year so wondered if anyone knew of a good program, either online or with books (or both!) we could get.

TIA

I'm a languages tutor and I use Usborne Easy French with quite a few of my tutees. It's a really nice book and goes into all the grammar but doesn't do much on the transactional side. If you're interested, I can PM you a link to get a PDF workbook to go with the book.

Duolingo is a free app, which is quite nice.

An alternative is Skoldo - Elementary and Book 1 are fine; I'm not so keen on book 2.

Is Muzzy still going?

Tinuviel That book looks good so I'll order it. Would love the PDF workbook, thanks!

I've got a Duolingo account for both of those languages (relearning Spanish, starting out with French) so I'm not sure I could go back to beginners, but will check it out. I could always set up another account using my husband's details for the children. Apparently there's an app for children in the US that isn't here yet. Will check out Skoldo.

mosquito We're looking at Muzzy.

We used Skoldo for French. We're doing the IGCSE next year after starting formal learning.

My child is doing KS3 German with a wonderful German teacher called Trixi who does zoom (I think) lessons.

There is a home ed lady who does online lessons at //www.adventuresinspanish.co.uk

Hope that helps
