What happens next?

The GP has signed my DD14 off of school until may half term due to severe anxiety.
She is under CAMHs and another charity based MH service.
She wants to be in school but needs a complete break from the environment.
The school have been great and very supportive but they are limited and they are results/ target based especially around attendance.

My dd will be doing a 6 week trial with Interhigh after Easter.
We are happy to fund it but i'm wondering what the school/LEA involvement will be?

I have only ever had letters from the school attendance officer. Basically saying her attendance is of concern and the effect of missing school can have. Its now at 79%
Should we have a EWO assigned to her?

She was already on an official reduced timetable to see if it helped.

I emailed the HOE and attendance officer yesterday to say I will be bringing a letter in on Friday from the Gp that will state she needs to be out of school until the beginning of June

Is there any advice or guidance you can help me with?

It has been so nice to see my DD smile again in the mornings knowing she doesn't have to face school.

Glad your daughter is feeling a bit better. If she is off temporarily (until June as you said) then the school/LA should be sorting something for her.

I don't know much about that, but hopefully someone will come along who will.

Because she is still enrolled in school, the school and LA must make provisions for her education.

Thanks, What if I said I was going to make provisions for her? would they accepts that?

I'm not sure. You'd need to speak to them about it. Because she is still a student there, they are technically responsible, so they aren't going to want to risk any liability later.

Some schools fund Interhigh places out of their special needs budget as it is still less than £6k which is the amount schools have to fund prior to top up funding

On a separate note, good luck at Interhigh

they’ve been fab with our dd who joined 3 years ago in similar circumstances and absolutely loves the school
