We've had a typically mixed up home ed day - we found a great free resource for simple animation and had a go did some maths and english from books then planted out lettuces and cabbages - love home edding when it's a mixed up day like today - but love the look on other mums faces when you tell them what you have been up to !! fivekidsandcounting.blogspot.com/2011/06/mobile-blogging.html

That's really interesting mummybiz - I will check out that Pencil software - there's an article/video about the Tate animated film made by children here

That's brilliant. I have toyed with the idea of home educating my boys for quite a while now... ds1 loves drawing cartoons and I was wondering about doing animation with him but feeling that my technical skills weren't up to scratch. I will have a play with the Pencil program myself and then see if he wants to try it.

We did some stop-motion animation for a few days one summer using a still digital camera and some LEGO. It was very educational seeing how little you could move between shots.

We also later did a two-day claymation workshop with some other HEers and came away with a CD of the results.

Thanks for the lego idea - we have a huge box full and stop-motion animation was on my mind - we made some figures using paperclay and garden wire for ds dolls house just after xmas so i was also thinking we could could make some more of those and do some stop motion that way - I feel an obsession coming on :)
