Painting technique- cutting in

I started a thread a few days ago and am finally going to paint tomorrow. I am doing one wall light grey in a bedroom upstairs. My questions are:
How many cm do I cut in?
Do I use tape or try and go freehand?
Do I cut in around the whole wall first, then paint the middle or do I do it in sections?
Thank you for any help!!

I found tape messed it up, I use an angled brush freehanded all around the edges then paint the rest of the wall.

What @luciles said.
Buy a Dulux “perfect edges” brush. Worth every penny.

Dont bother with tape
Do all of the cutting in before you roller, except for along the top where the wall meets the ceiling. Do that bit afterwards.

in all the way round the wall then roll the middle. Water the paint down a bit and it will flow better.

@Shakirasma thank you for your reply. why do I leave the cutting in between the wall and ceiling until last?

That should say cut in all the way round!

Because that's the bit you really see, and the brushed bit goes on thicker than the roller which can sometimes leave a visible difference. Doing that, most visible bit after rollering allows you to lay the paint off better and blend it in to the rest of the wall. Does that make sense?
