Cornforth White and Amonite - too close in colour?

Hi

Looking to have my kitchen cabinets painted Cornforth White. Will have a pantry which will be painted inside. It could be painted the same colour, but have seen an example done were the inside was a slightly lighter tone if the same colour and it looked good (opening up the inside of the pantry).

The lighter shade of Cornforth White us Amonite, but are they too close in tone (not enough differentiation?)? The colour which is another time lighter is Strong White - too white / light?

Cornforth White & Ammonite

Ammonite is slightly lighter (higher Value) &
a touch more neutral (lower Chroma) than Cornforth White.

Some may really enjoy the subtlety of the difference - others may find it lacks enough contrast.

Here’s an alternative Tikkurila colour.

It’s a close sibling to Cornforth White
from the same spot on the Color Wheel.

It’s a couple of points darker and a smidge more colourful so would offer slightly more in terms of contrast to Ammonite

Here’s a suggestion the other way. A colour a little lighter and more neutral than Ammonite.

It’s from the same Hue Family neighbourhood, but sits further clockwise into the Yellow Hue Family than Ammonite - so would likely read a little cooler by comparison.

Yes, I am leaning towards “Silver Satin” for the interior - looks like a better contrast with Cornforth White.

Defo try a paint sample or a large paint chip for a visual check with your lighting before committing. 🌈
