Flush light fittings for a cottage style home ?

Hi has anyone got these sort of lights - they need to be flush fittings as ceilings too low for any pendant styles ? I can never find anything I really like or that isnt too overtly modern? I need at least 4 - maybe more . We have lived here for 4 years and I still have bare bulbs !

We’ve similar issue! All the ones I find are either “bathroomy” or modern or ugly.
I gave up in the living room and put wall lights up instead. Would that work?

When I lived in a cottage with low ceilings a previous owner had taken out all the pendant lights and replaced them with uplighters on the walls. It looked absolutely lovely and was cleverly designed so that it never felt like there wasn't enough light. We had something like this www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-tessa-uplighter-wall-light-white/p231744064 which was made of plaster and could be painted to match the walls, it worked surprisingly well. It might be worth considering if you don't mind a bit of rewiring and making good of the walls.

The previous owners in our (largely) Victorian house put spots in throughout. Which was a bit annoying as we had quite a few beautiful (and expensive) pendants that we'd brought with us. We needed one ceiling replasteting anyway, so we bit the bullet and had an electrician in to rejig some of the spots, add in some pendant cabling in the living room and dining room, so we can make use of our lovely pendants (and have them all in dimmers so we can control the lights levels in each room - spots only, pendants, only, both or neither and all adjustable). But I don't think I would have done that if we didn't need the ceiling plastered - it's been quite a big job overall.

Ooh a flurry of replies thanks so much everyone - at least I am not alone with this problem !
The wall light suggestions are sensible but I have too long a project list to consider rewiring especially as it’s lime plaster so always a bit of a palaver !
@GreyishDays I absolutely love the Jim Lawrence ones - could be spot on though possibly should spend less than that as they are in areas no one apart from us will see !
@TeeBee where are yours from- they might work in a couple of the spaces .
Did I say I probably need six ?
4 upstairs and 2 down - I think this is why I haven’t sorted it sooner .

Lightbulbs- they are currently single bulbs.
Is it just me I am forever replacing lightbulbs !

Hmmm, think it might have been BHS years ago. Lamp and Light do similar ones though.

I never have the ceiling lights on, I’ve got floor lamps and a couple of table lamps.

@MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig - what a name ! We are the same in our reception rooms and bedrooms these are landings and loo - hence why I haven’t bothered sooner.
