DD wants a turquoise bedroom

I am really struggling for a nice blue/green shade for DD's (11) bedroom. It's a very small room and has a pine cabin bed that takes up a lot of it. I want to make it as nice as I can for her but can't find a colour we both like in local homebase. I might do colour on one wall then something more neutral on the others (similar to the other bedrooms). Maybe not fashionable to have a feature wall but it works in the ones I've done. Help!

Why not get some sample pots from farrow and ball and get those colour matched?

Vardo
Arsenic
And oval room blue are all beautiful in real life!

Have you thought about doing half the walls like this? It's a great way of using colour in a small room.

Google pale teal and pink for inspiration.

My DD's room is in a colour called new duck egg that I picked up in BnM.

Our family room is painted in “Brighton” from Little Greene. It’s a lovely blue/green colour.

I would do just one feature wall too.

Dds room was just decorated in mint macaroon and white mist. Contrary to the name its turquoise not mint.
We went down the feature wall route because its a massive room and she was adamant about turquoise but I didn't want to have to repaint it all if she changes her mind in a couple of years

Little Greene Turquoise Blue and Green Verditer are both bright without being overwhelming.

If it’s a very small room then just doing one wall will look unfinished imho. I agree with @russetred and would do the bottom half of the whole room in turquoise (either to the halfway point or to the height of the bad) with a very pale grey or white on the upper half.

Have a look at Wickes, their own brand has a few; difficult to know if you’re envisioning something at the aqua end of the spectrum or more towards teal

Thanks everyone. Half way won't work as the cabin bed would cover most of it plus there is a stair bulkhead protruding into the room.

Mint macaroon looks promising!

If thinking paler then Farrow and Ball pale powder is lovely.

We've just bought mint macaroon for dds room. It's very nice. Two walls of that, two white.

@fruitpastille Slightly off topic but my dd has a stair bulkhead in her room. We made use of the space by building a wardrobe above it. She also has a cabin bed with pull out desk.

My DD has Farrow and Ball Vardo in her room (we got it colour matched). It's a gorgeous colour.

I've attached a pic of the wall (I (badly) cropped my DD out of the pic, so ignore the yellow leg!)

Green verditer I would say is much too much for a whole wall! (The dresser not the table)

Could you paint the bed turquoise instead of the walls?

If your DD can find something in the colour she wants - a t shirt, a comb, or a clipping from a magazine for example - you can get that colour mixed for you in B&Q Valspar. My very small shower room is in 3 shades of a turquoise colour mixed that way and I love it.

Duck egg the one wall the cabin bed isn’t against and other three white and find a canvas with white and duck egg on to run down the wall the cabin bed runs down or the wall just above her head on cabin bed, few little pieces such as a cushion, throw, plat pot and candle and white bedding

@chocolatviennois what I would really like to do is have a bed built over the bulkhead which would go under the window. But for now painting the room is a lot cheaper!
@StripeyBananas I quite like the idea of painting the bed but I think it would be v difficult to do a good job of it as it's quite complex with drawers, cupboard, pull out desk...
Some of these suggested colours are great, thank you. The room is a v small box room - although not the smallest bedroom in the house!

In my living room I have Johnson's version of Craig & Rose's French Turquoise as a feature wall and Morris Blue on the other walls. I must have got through every tester pot on the universe!
