Kitchen advice needed for a novice!

Hi, we’ve just bought a lovely new house but it’s about 20 years old and obviously quite dated. We have just enough left in the budget to replace the kitchen and floor tiles downstairs. It’s a great big open plan space with room for large island etc. and I’m so excited but scared of getting it wrong. Can’t see us ever having the money to do the kitchen etc. again so I want to stick to classic styles that will date as little as possible. This is definitely our forever home!

My DH is laid back and happy for me to pick what I think but the responsibility is weighing heavy, lol! Please advise me on what I should go for. I’m thinking of shaker style pale grey with a dark grey or navy island but is that already on way out? Any advice from those ‘in the know’ would be so appreciated.

How wonderful.

I would be inclined to leave it for a bit until you have got the feel of the house. Have it at the back of your mind, but focus on other things. Get the rest of the house organised and then at some point the right sort of idea will float into your mind.

Start collecting samples, leave them in place so you can get used to them in different lights. Enjoy. Smile
