Can you suggest a rug that goes with these curtains?

I am considering getting a new fireside rug and these curtains for my sitting room. The carpet is beige, inherited from previous house owner (saving up for wood floor in a few years), and the walls are greige. What rug would you buy - patterned ones seem to clash and beige rugs, which would be my choice with wooden floors, look too similar to the carpet? Also, the window is large, so with floor length curtains, the pattern would be fairly dominant in the room.

A plain rug of the lighter blue colour from the curtains or the orange colour from the curtains.

I would pick a dominant colour from the curtains and go with a plain rug in that colour. With greige walls i think you need a bit of colour. I'd probably go with a dark orange which also goes so much better with the blue in that pattern than red does, red and blue is a bit meh but a dark orange looks really classy.
I've had that colour scheme before and it looks great.
Maybe echo the blue in the curtains with some cushions or throws.

I'd pick out the China blue from the curtains, keep the rug plain though

Thanks for your responses. I do already have some dark burgundy in the room and navy chairs, so China blue or orange may be an option. The burgundy is close to one of the colours in the curtains but I think would be too difficult to match in a rug. I get a bit obsessed with how shades of colours and different colours work together, it drives DH mad as he doesn’t really care if colours clash!
