Honest opinions- what do you think of this wallpaper?

I have a large(ish ) L shaped kitchen diner, and would ove this on one wall of my dining area.
The wall is quite long- 28 feet or so, kitchen is white, light wooden floors.
For contect the room is light, and I live surrounded by woodland.
The only furniture in front of is would be a wooden dining table and wooden chairs.

OH thinks it is naff, but doesn't care strongly enough to argue against it happening if it's what I want to do.

What do others think?

It is hideous. You see that wallpaper all the time in office meeting rooms.

I think it would work in the room you describe. And also think it's more suitable to a home that really is in woodland than an inner city home where you'd feel like they wished they lived elsewhere!

Sorry, I agree. Very corporate.

Embarrassingly tacky

I like it

Your OH is correct. Naff.

Horrendous.

But if you like it, go for it. Grin

It’s possibly a little bit naff, but I can see the appeal. If you love it, I’d go for it. I’ve seen a lot worse and at least looking at this wallpaper will be calm and soothing, as opposed to the effects of some of the other wallpapers I’ve seen!

If you don't mind stripping it off in a few months then go ahead. How high are your ceilings though?

speakout · 17/09/2019 15:48

As I guessed a mixed reaction! I am still dithering over it.

Painfully naff. Sorry. If you're insistent on a mural, a more abstract illustrative one is better. Those photographic ones are awful.

THis is a bit similar to the style of my kitchen and what I have in mind.

They had that on the wall of the lodge we stayed in at Center Parcs.

Report
MrsMozartMkII · 17/09/2019 15:53

Nope. Not if you live in a wooded area.

Span1elsRock · 17/09/2019 15:54

It's like something in a Centre Parcs villa or a board room.

But if you like it, that's all that matters.

Report
SecretWitch · 17/09/2019 15:55

That would be jarring for me. If you love it though, do it

Report
Nifeandfuck · 17/09/2019 15:55

I hate it with a passion.

If you're dithering I'd say don't do it

I think with wallpaper you should always have that spark of excitement of just knowing it's going to look amazing and that you'll love it.

It's awful.

Very Centre Parcs! Sorry!

Report
LimpidPools · 17/09/2019 15:58

God, no. Sorry OP, but it really does look like something you'd find in an office.

I take on board everyone's views- thanks.

It's been a long time since I was in a work/office environment- over 20 years, and I have never been to center parcs- so not quite in the loop!

It wouldn't be my first choice but I think you can still have it if you want. It's cheap and you can strip it when you are bored of it. It's only wall paper.

I'm sure there are better wall murals about though.

More than anything I'd be concerned about how cheap it is, I suspect while it looks fine on a small screen it would actually be fairly unpleasant lifesize. Compare the cost of Osborne and Little or, more comparably Wallbeard, they are both 6 times more expensive. Where are the costs being cut?

They have that on the wall of one of the studios at the David Lloyd I go to.

Report
speakout · 17/09/2019 16:12

I just used that one as an example- I would investigate quality before I bought- just the general idea I wanted to convey.
