F&B Hague blue and.....

I am starting to plan my hallway makeover and I really love the dark blue 'Hague' from f&b. I have black gloss tile floor, currently cream walls. It's quite a bright space but it's an odd shape.

I have a g-plan sideboard which is staying and some other retro bits and bobs which I'd like to include.

What colours could go on the other walls with The Hague blue as a feature wall? Any other thoughts?

(Just fishing for ideas really!) apologies for the wonky panoramic shot! The doors you can see in the right of the pic are the original wooden front doors of the house, and there's a little 'vestibule' with coat hooks and a shoe rack in a 1m square space, so this front hall is just a big empty space. My dh's office door (glass) Is out of shot and let's in a lot of light. I think every wall in dark blue will be too dark.

I'm just about to do my upstairs hallway this colour. The rest of the contrasting walls will be Setting Plaster Pink. I adore navy and Blush together

I love the colour of bare plaster, I wanted to use it with my dark green kitchen but in the end decided against.
How will you divide up your walls blue/pink?

I love the combination but I don't think Dh will want a pink hallway.

Very sketchy floor plan! The vestibule is bigger than 1 m square, it's about 2m x 3m!!

There's a big wooden step inside the front door. I definitely want to emphasise the natural wood colours and I think the blue is very good for this?

I'm lucky that I have a picture rail throughout so I'm going to do the pink at the very top with the navy below.

Yes I love a picture rail. Our house has had all things like that stripped out unfortunately. I think they look really good, Especially on the stairs and landing and practical too as you only need to redecorate the bottom half!

Maybe F&B Ammonite or Blackened?

Polly I like both of those. Have you seen them in real life? Are they quite grey?

Musing..., if I were to do one wall in Hague, the rest in ammonite (or similar), I wonder if I could pick out greens and mustards in vintage frames, a bit like this cushion? Although maybe not palm leaves. Or maybe one feature wall of fabulous expensive wallpaper which draws in the colours?

I get a bit over excited with this stuff.

Not seen them in real life, but I find looking at examples of Pinterest really helpful as the colour is shown in different rooms.
I would say Blackened is more grey than Ammonite from the pictures I've seen. If you buy samples I always paint them onto A3 card instead of straight onto the wall then you can move them around into different lights ☺️

That's a good idea. The room is quite bright but has lots of alcove/shadowy bits. A light grey could very well be too dark in the wrong place.

Might Hague blue be too dark? You could use it on the woodwork instead?

Lying I'm not sure, although it is a pretty bright room (the little vestibule bit is the only dark bit) I don't think i'd do the woodwork dark though.
