Just that!
Where can I get a good quality, firm mattress that doesn't cost the earth?
Thanks in advance

We have an Emma one bought online arriving this week. I wouldn’t normally buy like that but we stayed in a hotel that had them recently and loved it! Also a “Which” Best Buy.

fleur I've heard good things about them, but unfortunately short of selling both my children (tempting), I'm not sure that's within my price range

Another ikea here. Every time I go to bed I’m surprised by how comfortable it is

John Lewis clearance. I thought I wanted a firm as have back problems and always woke up with hip pain. Was advised that firmness is more about your weight.

There was a special feature in the Guardian this weekend, about sleep and sleep deprivation. They recommended Loaf's Perfect Mattress as do Ideal Home.

Ours arrives next week and I can't wait!

No turn mattress from John Lewis. We've had it for 13 years and it's still as good as new.

It comes in a roll, like a rug.

John Lewis. I love it and I'm a right fuss pot. I also thought I wanted a firm one but was advised medium would be better for our weight by the staff in store. They were right!

Another Hovag here. They come rolledup, but are still heavy! So you can fit it in to a normal sized car but will need a trolley.

I've got an Eve mattress which is firm and very comfy. I think they're manufactured in the UK too which is nice.

@TeddyIsaHe

Medium firm. I don't think I'm heavy enough to sink into a firm one at all- I'd be just lying on top of it, which isn't for me. If you've got a rather heavy person on a softer mattress, they tend to sink through and end up lying on the bedboards IME. That said, medium firm isn't so soft that it would cause problems for most people and is a nice compromise.

We originally had a firm hovag mattress. But after a month I couldn't get on with it so we took it back in a van and swapped it for a medium firm.
Originally it comes vacuum packed in a roll like others have said. When we exchanged it we had to hire a van to take it back because we could no longer fit it in our car. Ikea were very good and swapped it no problem.

Heals. I went and tried them all so I was sure it suited me. Love it.
