It’s for a small (60cm) window but I don’t really know where to start!

There are some good videos on you tube.
It’s all in the cutting. If you don’t cut it straight it won’t pull up right.
I hate making them and find it easier to cover an existing v cheap IKEA blind.

How do you make a Roman blind? Poke them in the eye, surely?

How do you do it? Do you tack the material on top?

I make them regularly. Very easy.
I usually use single duvet covers as it matches the bedroom - just buy a spare when buying bedding. Trim to fit window. Use excess material you have just cut off to cover 3 dowels. Job done.

Can you explain a bit more slowly! What do you do with the dowels when you’ve covered them with excess material? How exactly do you cover them? Are they covered and separate? How do you put them into the blind?

How do you then attach it to the window?

I recommend the Mydecozo.co.uk video linked above

Another daft question! I’ve watched the video and it was very interesting.

Does the blind just attach by Velcro? Is that strong enough to hold it up when you pull the string?

Yes, velcro will hold up a heavy blind.
I machine velcro on rather than hand sew it.
The wooden batten it is velcroed to must be firmly screwed to the wall.

What Breakfast said apart from I don’t use wooden batten and use a kit it works like a roller blind. Expensive but makes it so much easier to use.

I use velcro too.
Really great for swapping blinds.
Use the duvet cover so you have basically a double sided blind.
Sew the 3 dowels across to create the rods..attach 3 plastic rings to each dowel to thread the cord. Velcro attach to window.
