What would you do with this space?

We're redoing the "playroom" now the kids are teens and it's a second lounge.
We have this space that leads out into the garden that I don't quite know what to do with.
Currently there's a toy box that fits well and is still useful but not essential and the other side has a spare coffee table and guitar stand.
I thought of built in seating or a lovely chair but truthfully they'd never get sat in and the door opens inwards (across the right had space).
Does anybody have any fabulous ideas to make it a bit more "dressed" and lovely please? Lamps would help, and I guess the guitar is ok when not in its bag?

What would you do with this space?

Plants, to help the eye flow from the inside to the garden? You could have a pair of matching Statement plants, in Statement pots.

Thanks Senua I like that idea as the guitar could still stay too.
They'd go upwards too which feels good

Can I ask what colour you have on your walls? Smile

It's currently a pale green but that will probably change when we decorate. The colour is another question as the room runs through to the kitchen which has cream/ off white cupboards and black granite and is a bit dark (so darent use a darker colour on walls)

Thanks, do you remember the brand/shade? I'm not usually keen on pale colours but I like the way it looks with oak Grin

Sorry no help with your original question!

Does the guitar have to stay on the floor? Have you got a bit of wall you could hang it on? That would free up floor space for something you actually want there but keep the guitar accessible. I find guitars on the floor get kicked which is a BAD THING Smile

Could you rehang the door so it opens outwards? It takes two people and a bit of time but completely DIY able. That might give you more options.

It’s a lovely entrance but tge current toy box and coffee table are hiding it. I’d second the suggestion of a nice large plant in both corners.

Don't you have some gym items like a fitness cycle or something like that? Could be a gym area. Alternatively, an interior garden with floor plants. Eco-friendly interiors are trendy now :)

We did have an exercise bike there at one time but it gathered dust so we got rid Smile.
I think I'll go with the indoor plants/ mini conservatory idea, the next project being to find plants that will tolerate being a bit chilly on a winter night as the curtains (currently?) close over the front though I could change those for Roman blinds
