Anyone painted floor tiles?

We have white/grey ceramic floor tiles over a v large kitchen diner with underfloor heating (so taking them up would be £££)
I've been down a Pinterest rabbit hole looking at painted floor tiles - but they all seem to be in the US and very few "after x months wear and tear" pictures about
Would painted tiles be a ridiculous idea? Constant scratches to cover and making something look a lot worse?
